Amethyst belongs to the trigonal crystal family.

Crystals belonging to the trigonal family emit constant energy. They are always in a vibrational frequency that is neither of a negative nor of a positive nature where the energy vibration neither increases nor decreases, it is constant. This means that they emit a balanced energy and are very nice to work with when you want to balance subtle energies in the body, especially when you as a person feel out of energy (e.g. drained of energy) or have underactivity in one of your chakras.

Trigonal crystals help you prepare for energy shifts, transformation, and support you in your spiritual work. These crystals are also in fine harmony with the root chakra and kundalini energy.

The crystals belonging to the trigonal family have similar properties to the hexagonal family, but crystals in the trigonal family tend to go over a wider range of uses and enhance clarity more than the hexagonal crystals do, even though they are so similar.
